Commuter Don’s Favourite Study Spots

As we enter the second month of school, we know that the workload can be quite daunting and stressful. We think that it is extremely important to find spaces on campus that best suit your study styles.
Below are some of the Commuter Dons’ favourite places to study on campus!
Goldring Student Centre
Victoria College’s beloved Goldring Student Centre is one of our go-to study spaces! Goldring offers a variety of study spaces from quiet and professional, to more relaxed and social.
Some of our favourite study spaces in Goldring are the Atrium, the Cat’s Eye, Wymilwood Lounge, the Commuter Student Lounge and Ned’s Café (make sure to pick up some coffee and pasta while you’re there)!
Location: 150 Charles Street West
Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00am-11:00pm
Gerstein Library
Gerstein Science Information Centre is a perfect space for a quiet, focused study session. Gerstein has something for everyone with so many different designs and sections!
We especially love the quiet reading rooms on the main floor and the group study rooms in the basement of Gerstein! These study rooms are allocated on a first-come-first-serve basis, so no need to worry about booking them in advance.
Location: 9 King’s College Circle
Hours: Monday-Thursday 8:30am-11pm, Friday 8:30am–10pm, Saturday 9am-10pm, Sunday 10am-10pm
Robarts Common
This beautiful newly built space, attached to the John P. Robarts Research Library is a comfortable bright space to study!
In the heart of campus, Robarts Common serves as a wonderful space to get some quiet studying done. We hope you get a chance to check out this new space and learn to love it just as much as we do :)
Location: 354 Huron Street
Hours: Open 24 hours daily from Sunday nights to Friday evenings.
Earth Sciences Library
The Earth Sciences Library is not only for students in the program, but it is a great option for very quiet, secluded studying on the South side of campus.
Because of its small size, the Earth Sciences Library is always extremely quiet and a great space to help you focus. We also love the views of all of the trees surrounding the building!
Location: 5 Bancroft Avenue
Hours: Monday-Thursday 9am-9pm, Friday 9am-6pm
Ramsay Wright Student Lounges
Most Life Science students should at this point be quite familiar with this building!
This is lovely Ramsay Wright Laboratories. Most Biology Labs and many classes are held here, so chances are, you’ll find yourself in this building at some point. What not too many people know, is that on the first two floors, Ramsay Wright has newly designed Student Lounges that make for great quiet study spots.
Hours: Monday-Friday 8:45am-5pm
Location: 25 Harbord Street
Sync Search App
Sync Search is an extremely useful tool, especially during gaps in between lectures, or back-to-back online lectures.
Sync Search is an app that allows you to enter any building, and time, and will give you a list of empty classrooms during that period in which you can take any online classes/get some work done before your next class.
