Important Semester Dates — Faculty of Arts & Science
Hey Vickies! We hope you have had a wonderful winter break and took some time to focus on yourself. As we head into the Winter semester, we’d like to highlight some key dates for students in the Faculty of Arts & Science!
January 19, 2023 — “Waitlists for S Courses Close”
If you are on the waitlist for any classes, this is the last possible day to make it off the waitlist and into the course. If you have not made it off the waitlist by this date, you unfortunately will not be admitted into the course.
January 22, 2023 — “Last Day to Enrol in S Courses”
This is the last possible date to enrol in any courses for the Winter 2023 semester, so before this date, please make sure that you check your program requirements and are enrolled in all of the necessary courses.
*An additional reminder to check if your courses require any enrolment in practicals or tutorials*
February 20–24, 2023 — “Reading Week!”
We recommend taking this time to catch up on any work you are behind on and get ahead, but most importantly to take care of yourself and practice wellness.
March 19, 2023 — “Last Day to Drop S Courses”
After this date, courses that you have been taking throughout the Winter 2023 semester can no longer be dropped and will appear on your transcript. You may still, however, credit no-credit courses.
April 6, 2023 — “Last Day to Add or Remove a CR/NCR Option in S and Y Courses”
After this date, courses can no longer be credit no credited, or have the credit no credit option removed.
*Credit no credited courses will not impact your GPA, however, please be aware that courses that are part of your program requirements cannot be credit no credited*
April 11–28, 2023 — “Final Assessments in S and Y Courses”
I know it is wayyyy too early, but we’d like to wish you all good luck on the exams/final assessments you may write during this period and wish you all a wonderful summer!
Don’t forget, you can always check in with the Office of the Registrar and Academic Advising here at Vic for support navigating your courses and the above deadlines to make an academic plan that is right for you!
